OKLAHOMA CITY – For the second straight week, Emma Rice of Science & Arts was selected as the Sooner Athletic Conference offensive player of the week for Oct. 11-17 while Mid-America Christian’s Jennifer Starwalt collected the defensive accolade for the second time in the last three weeks.
Rice and Starwalt are two of the most decorated players in the history of the SAC with Rice earning her eighth SAC weekly honor while Starwalt is securing the seventh award.

In leading Science & Arts to a 6-0 victory over Wayland Baptist on Saturday, junior forward Emma Rice was involved in five of the team’s six scoring plays. Rice scored her NAIA-leading 21st goal of the season in the 42nd minute while tying her single-match career-high with four assists in the victory. The six-point tally brought her season total to 51, moving her into a tie for the second-most in the NAIA. Rice has been the catalyst for a Science & Arts attack that currently ranks eighth in the NAIA in goals per game (4.29) and have been particularly outstanding in the last month, going 7-0 while outscoring its opponents 40-1 in those matches.

Senior goalkeeper Jennifer Starwalt helped lead Mid-America Christian to a crucial home win on Saturday as she notched her seventh win of the season in a 2-1 victory over Texas Wesleyan. The Evangels as a team limited the Rams, who came into the match as the 12th-best scoring team in the NAIA at 4.2 goals per game to just one goal. Starwalt made five strong saves in the match to finish with an .833 save percentage. So far this season, Starwalt is boasting a 1.71 goals allowed average and posting a .719 save percentage.
