OKLAHOMA CITY – The Sooner Athletic Conference revealed its volleyball scholar-athletes presented by Barnes & Noble College on Tuesday as 43 student-athletes earned the accolade.
To garner SAC scholar-athlete honors, a student-athlete must maintain a 3.5 cumulative grade-point average while appearing on the eligibility certificate for an NAIA-recognized sport. The recipient must have also attended the nominating institution for two full years as an incoming freshman or one full year as a transfer as well as be at least a junior by academic standing.
John Brown led all Sooner Athletic Conference programs, paving the way with eight recipients while SAC champion Oklahoma City notched seven honorees.
Five student-athletes wrapped up the year with a 4.0 cumulative GPA as a pair of Texas Wesleyan Lady Rams turned in an unblemished grade-point average.
