OKLAHOMA CITY – The Sooner Athletic Conference has unveiled its female 2021 Academic All-Conference performers as 265 student-athletes from the league's three fall conference-sponsored sports earned the distinguished honor on Tuesday.
To be eligible for Academic All-SAC honors, a student-athlete must maintain a 3.25 grade-point average during the fall and spring semesters and is a regular letter winner in his or her respective sport.
Overall, there were 133 student-athletes represented in women's soccer, 102 in volleyball and 30 in women's cross country.
Leading all women's soccer recipients was SAC regular season and tournament champion John Brown with 19 honorees while Oklahoma City University had 17 recipients and both Southwestern Assemblies of God and Southwestern Christian placed 15 apiece on the list.
In women's volleyball, Panhandle State led the charge with 14 distinguished student-athletes followed by John Brown, Oklahoma City and SAGU with 11.
Of the 30 honors for women's country, SAC champion Oklahoma City paved the way with nine recipients while John Brown followed with eight.
