OKLAHOMA CITY – The Sooner Athletic Conference released its 2021-22 volleyball scholar-athletes, presented by Barnes & Noble College on Tuesday as 61 student-athletes from the league’s 11 programs earned the esteemed honor.
To be eligible for SAC scholar-athlete accolades, a student-athlete must be at least a junior in academic standing while maintaining no lower than a 3.5 cumulative grade-point average. Athletes also must have attended the nominating institution for at least two years as a non-transfer or one year as a transfer and be on the program’s NAIA eligibility certificate.
Overall, Oklahoma City led the league with nine being named to the decorated list while John Brown, Mid-America Christian and SAC tournament champion Southwestern Assemblies of God each tallied eight apiece.
Of those named to the list, three student-athletes wrapped up the academic year with a 4.0 cumulative GPA in Central Christian’s Micaela Cornelius, John Brown’s Delaney Barnes and Mid-America Christian’s Hanna Foecker.
