Oklahoma City – Terrel Hookfin of Texas College, Javari Sanders of Texas Wesleyan, and Dylan Alford of Southwestern Assemblies of God are this week’s Oklahoma Ford Dealers Sooner Athletic Conference Football Players of the Week honors for the week ending Nov. 4, 2023, announced by the conference office Monday Morning.
 
Hookfin garnered the league’s Offensive Player of the Week award while Sanders grabbed the Defensive honor. Alford earned the Special Teams Award of the season for his efforts this past weekend.
 
Hookfin set a new school record for all-purpose yards in the Steers 38-36 victory over Wayland Baptist Saturday afternoon. He completed 19 passes for 336 yards and five touchdowns and rushed for 141 yards and another score to help Texas College to their first win of the season. He finished the day with a passing efficiency rating of 199.1.

Sanders led the Texas Wesleyan defense in a 42-19 win over Langston Saturday as he was credited with five tackles including four solo stops and he also had an interception that was returned for 35 yards. Sanders was also credited with a pass breakup in the contest.

Alford had a pair of kick returns for touchdowns in the Lions loss to Panhandle State 46-23. He brought home one return for 96 yards and then took another to the house from 80 yards. He finished the day with 176 return yards on three attempts.
