Oklahoma City – Sal Palermo III of Louisiana Christian, Kameron Dickerson of Panhandle State, and Octavio Resendiz of Langston have earned this week’s Oklahoma Ford Dealers Sooner Athletic Conference Football Players of the Week honors for the week ending Sept. 23, 2023, announced by the conference office Monday Morning.
 
Palermo III garnered the league’s Offensive Player of the Week award while Dickerson grabbed the Defensive honor. Resendiz earned the Special Teams Award of the season for his efforts this past weekend.
 
Palermo III used both his arm and legs in a Wildcat 60-14 victory over Wayland Baptist Saturday evening. He was 13-of-19 for 369 yards through the air with three touchdowns and also rushed four times for 39 yards and a pair of scores in the win. The five total touchdowns and yards passing were both season bests as Palermo III finished the evening with a passing efficiency of 283.7.

Dickerson led the defensive efforts for the Aggies in a 31-19 win over Arkansas Baptist Saturday as he finished with 10 total tackles with six of those being solo stops. Three of those tackles were also for a loss and Dickerson added a pair of interceptions and a pass breakup in the win.

Resendiz put together a perfect day kicking in a Langston 47-6 win over Texas College. He was a perfect 6-for-6 in extra points while adding a field goal from 37 yards out in the victory. Resendiz also had a pair of punts in the contest with one of them credited for a touchback.
