Oklahoma City- Cole Francis, Jaiden Jones, and Freddy Joya of Texas Wesleyan are this week’s Sooner Athletic Conference Football Players of the Week as announced by the conference office on Monday morning.
 
Francis earned the league’s Offensive Player of the Week honor, while Jones was named Defensive Player of the Week, with Joya garnering the league’s Special Teams Player of the Week honor.
 
Francis paced the Rams to a 61-28 victory over Louisiana Christian as he set a new school mark with 526 yards in the air while going 27-of-44 in the contest with three touchdown strikes. Francis averaged 12.0 yards per attempt in the game and finished with a 184.3 passing efficiency rating. Francis also scored a rushing touchdown in the victory for Texas Wesleyan.

Jones led the Rams’ defense with five total tackles in the win over Louisiana Christian while adding a pair of interceptions, one of which he returned 27 yards for a touchdown. Jones was also credited with a pass breakup in the contest to help Texas Wesleyan to the victory.

Joya set a new Texas Wesleyan school record with 19 points in the Rams’ win over Louisiana Christian as he was a perfect 4-for-4 in field goals with a 34-yard attempt being his longest make of the game. Joya was also a perfect 7-for-7 in extra point attempts in the win.
