Oklahoma City- Cole Francis of Texas Wesleyan, Kylon Polk of Louisiana Christian, and Cade Whitehead of Nelson are this week’s Sooner Athletic Conference Football Players of the Week as announced by the conference office on Monday morning.
 
Francis earned the league’s Offensive Player of the Week honor, while Polk was named Defensive Player of the Week, with Whitehead garnering the league’s Special Teams Player of the Week honor.
 
Francis led the Rams to a 24-13 victory over Wayland Baptist, which helped Texas Wesleyan claim a part of the conference championship, by going 14-of-19 through the air for 196 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Francis also rushed eight times for 31 yards. Francis also finished the day with a passing efficiency rating of 195.1.

Polk collected his second consecutive weekly award by pacing the Wildcats to a 48-13 upset win over No. 11 OUAZ over the weekend. For the second straight week, Polk had four interceptions, with one of those returned 58 yards for a touchdown. Polk also had nine total tackles, with seven of those being solo stops in the win.

Whitehead was a key factor in Nelson’s 26-21 victory over Texas College as he scored eight points during the contest. Whitehead was a perfect 2-for-2 in extra point attempts while also going a perfect 2-for-2 in field goals with a long of 30 yards in the win.
