Oklahoma City – The Sooner Athletic Conference is proud to announce that Mid-America Christian’s Adam Stanek has been named the 2024-25 SAC Sports Information Director of the Year as voted on by his peers within the conference. This is the third time that Stanek has earned this award.
Winners of each conference SID of the Year are sent to the NAIA Awards Committee for consideration for the national SID of the Year honor, which will be announced in September on NAIA National Awards Day.
The Sooner Athletic Conference SID of the Year recognizes an outstanding Sports Information Director based on accomplishments during the previous year. This includes their service to not only the institution’s student-athletes, but to the conference sports information directors, the SAC, and the NAIA.
“Adam Stanek is the epitome of what an SID is,” stated SAC Assistant Commissioner Jim Powers. “Stanek is giving of his time to the other sports information directors not only in the SAC, but around the country. Stanek is also a significant contributor to many of the SAC championships, serving in various capacities as either a host or at other championship sites within the conference, which helps ensure an outstanding student-athlete experience. Stanek is one of the best in the country, and we are proud to have him in the SAC.”
Stanek is entering his seventh year at Mid-America Christian and serves as the primary sports media contact for all 12 Evangel sports. Stanek oversees all of Mid-America Christian’s home events, which include stats, pre- and post-game graphics, social media, and many other duties. Stanek has also been a driving force in the Evangels, claiming the SAC Commissioner’s Cup for a second consecutive year, and highlighting the support provided to student-athletes at Mid-America Christian.
“I am incredibly thankful to my peers for voting for me for this prestigious honor,” said Stanek. “I consider myself incredibly fortunate to not only be able to serve Mid-America Christian within the SAC, but also work alongside everyone else in the conference. While I am blessed to receive this award, it is all made possible due to the incredible administrative staff that I work with at MACU. They have been a great group of people to work with over the last six years and can’t wait to see the direction we can take Mid-America Christian in the future.”
During the course of the 2024-25 academic year, Stanek served as a statistician and public address announcer for multiple SAC Championship events, including men’s soccer, men’s basketball, women’s basketball, baseball, and softball. Stanek also served as one of the official statisticians for the NCCAA Softball World Series as well as the PA announcer and statistician for the NAIA Men’s Soccer First and Second Round hosted by MACU on Nov. 23.
Stanek is a member of the College Sports Communicators and served as a panelist for a baseball and softball stat training webinar for SIDs across the country.
"I am continually impressed by Adam's unselfishness, work ethic, and service to others,” said Mid-America Christian Athletic Director Marcus Moeller. “He has done an incredible job as our SID across the board. He is the absolute best of us at MACU, and I am so thankful to see the league SIDs honor him once again with this award."
