Oklahoma City – Caelyn Ferguson of John Brown and Kaydrin Scott of Southwestern Christian have earned this week’s Digital Scoreboard Sooner Athletic Conference Women’s Basketball Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week awards for their efforts over the past week, as announced by the conference office on Monday morning.
Ferguson aided the Golden Eagles to a 2-0 conference record last week by averaging 20.5 points per game on 63.6 percent shooting from the field. Ferguson scored 13 points in a win over Central Christian and then added 28 points in an upset victory over Langston, which snapped the Lions’ 31-game home winning streak. In the win over the Lions, Ferguson was 10-of-13 from the field. Ferguson also added 13 rebounds and a pair of assists over the span.

Scott paced the Eagles to a 2-0 record last week, grabbing 20 defensive rebounds, six steals, and a pair of blocks. In a win over Panhandle State, Scott had 10 defensive caroms with two steals and a block. Scott added 10 more defensive boards, four assists, and a block in a win over Wayland Baptist. Scott also averaged 14.5 points per game during the week.
