Oklahoma City – Cania Mitchell of Wayland Baptist and Paris Miller of Nelson have earned this week’s Digital Scoreboard Sooner Athletic Conference Women’s Basketball Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week awards for their efforts over the past week, as announced by the conference office on Monday morning.
 
Mitchell paced the Flying Queens to a 1-1 record last week by averaging 21 points per game on 58.3 percent shooting from the field while adding 19 rebounds for the week. In a win over Science and Arts, Mitchell posted a triple-double, scoring 20 points, grabbing 11 rebounds, and dishing 11 assists. Mitchell then scored 22 points and handed out eight assists in a loss to Mid-America Christian.

Miller aided the Lions to a 1-1 record last week by grabbing 27 defensive rebounds, four steals, and a block over the two-game span. Miller had a pair of double-doubles in the two games, which included a career high 18 rebounds, 16 of which were defensive, in a win over Central Christian. Miller then added 12 defensive caroms in a loss to Langston. Miller also averaged 17.5 points per game last week.
