Oklahoma City – Micah Clark of Nelson and Montez Young Jr. of Texas Wesleyan have earned this week’s Sooner Athletic Conference Digital Scoreboards Men’s Basketball Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week awards for their efforts over the past week, as announced by the conference office on Monday morning.
Clark paced the Lions to a 3-0 conference record last week by averaging 30.0 points per game while shooting 56.3 percent from the field. Clark posted 23 points in a win over John Brown while scoring 34 points in a victory over Oklahoma City. Clark finished the week with 33 points in a win over Southwestern Christian while adding 11 of his 23 rebounds in the victory. Clark was 11-of-23 from beyond the arc during the span as well.

Young Jr. aided the Rams to a 3-0 record last week by collecting 21 defensive rebounds and adding four steals and a block to his stat line for the week. Young Jr. had nine defensive caroms in wins over Southwestern Christian and Oklahoma City while having a pair of steals in wins over the Stars and College of the Ozarks. Young Jr. also scored 13.0 points per game over the three-game span.
