Langston Moves on to the NAIA Men's Basketball National Championship Final Site in Kansas City

Oklahoma City – The Langston University men’s basketball team has advanced to the 88th Annual NAIA Men’s Basketball Championship that will be held at Municipal Auditorium in Kansas City, Mo. The tournament final site started on Thursday, March 19, and will conclude with the championship game on March 24.

The Lions are the No. 4 seed in the Liston Quadrant as they clicked their ticket to the NAIA Final Site by defeating No. 13 Bethel (Tenn.) 73-65 in the first round and then beat No. 12 Eastern Oregon 86-59 in the second round that was held at C.F. Gayles Field House in Langston, Okla.

Langston will meet a familiar foe in the top-seeded Oklahoma Wesleyan Eagles. The two squads met in a non-conference contest back on Nov. 1 at Skiatook, Okla., with the Lions coming away with a 73-70 victory as Omar Henry led the way with 21 points. Langston has won the only two meetings between the schools. The Eagles are the 2025 national runner-up, while the Lions are the 2024 national runner-up.
