Oklahoma City – Haroon Aslam and Makena Junkin of Texas Wesleyan have been named this week’s Sooner Athletic Conference Digital Scoreboards Men’s and Women’s Golfer of the Week, as announced by the conference office on Tuesday morning.  
 
Aslam took part in the Roadrunner Classic at The Farm in Rocky Face, Ga., and helped the Rams to a third-place finish in the team chase by winning the individual event. Aslam fired rounds of 70-70-72 for a four-under-par score of 212 and won the event on the first playoff hole to defeat six players who are ranked in the top 20 this spring. Aslam had 12 birdies and an eagle during the 54-hole event that featured a loaded collegiate field.

Junkin participated in the National Women’s Collegiate Division II Golf Championship at The Golf Club at Cinco Ranch in Katy, Texas, and aided the Rams in securing the top spot in the team event. Junkin shot rounds of 74-76-73 for a final score of 10-over-par 223 to claim second place in the individual event against golfers from NCAA Division II and III.
