Sooner Athletic Conference

Darin David serves the Sooner Athletic Conference as Sponsorships Consultant, assisting Commissioner Stan Wagnon with development of its corporate partnership program.

Benefitting from David's expertise, the SAC seeks to align with reputable companies and organizations in order to improve the quality of services and enhance the visibility and reputation of the conference for its student-athletes and member institutions.

David, with two decades of various sports marketing experiences, leads his own sponsorship consulting practice, Steel Curtain Consulting. Through Steel Curtain, he manages sponsorship deals for several small college athletics conferences throughout the region.

Previously, he served 10 years as an account director for The Marketing Arm in Dallas, where he advised a number of Fortune 500 brands on sponsorship selection and execution. David helped his clients manage properties spanning all of the major professional sports in addition to college.

Prior to The Marketing Arm, David was sponsorship manager for Williams, where he oversaw the energy company’s PGA and LPGA tournament agreements. He also gained collegiate experience as assistant director of marketing and public relations director for the NAIA National Office for six years.

David, who lives in Allen, Texas, has degrees from the University of Tulsa and Oklahoma State University. He is married (Kathy) with two daughters.
