OKLAHOMA CITY – The Sooner Athletic Conference Commissioner’s Honor Roll exceeded 1,500 student-athletes for the first time ever with 1,504 recipients in 2021-22.
The SAC Commissioner’s Honor Roll includes student-athletes competing in NAIA-recognized sports across the conference who maintained a 3.0 grade-point average over the past academic year at member institutions. The league recognized 1,391 in 2020-21 for its previous record high.
The conference recognized more than 1,000 student-athletes on the Commissioner’s Honor Roll for the fifth consecutive year. Oklahoma City University paced the SAC with 202 award winners.
Eight institutions placed more than 100 recipients on the prestigious list. Texas Wesleyan numbered 185 honorees, while Southwestern Assemblies of God totaled 173 recipients.
Southwestern Christian scooped up 146 honors, and John Brown garnered 127 nods. Also surpassing 100 award winners were Panhandle State (119), Wayland Baptist (118) and Mid-America Christian (114).
