Oklahoma City – After defeating Louisiana Christian Saturday afternoon, Texas Wesleyan claimed their first outright Sooner Athletic Conference Football Championship and the league’s automatic berth into the 2024 NAIA Football Tournament.
 
The Rams completed the season unblemished with an overall record of 10-0 while going 8-0 in the conference schedule. 
 
Texas Wesleyan led the conference in scoring with 59.3 points per game while Ernest Ceasar paced the Rams’ explosive rushing attack with 1,109 yards on the ground as he hit paydirt for a national record 39 times on the season.
 
The Rams’ defense was also tops in the conference by allowing 18.8 points per game while having 18 interceptions and forcing 10 fumbles on the year.
 
Texas Wesleyan will now wait and see who they will match up with in the 2024 NAIA Football Tournament as the selection Show will take place on Sunday, Nov. 17, at 6 p.m.
