Heron and Williams Earn SAC Oklahoma Ford Dealers Softball Player of the Week Honors

Oklahoma City – Emersen Heron of Oklahoma City and Sophie Williams of Science & Arts earned this week’s Sooner Athletic Conference Oklahoma Ford Dealers Softball Players of the Week honors following their efforts during the period that ended on April 14, 2024, as announced by the conference office Monday Morning.
 
Heron aided the No. 2 ranked Stars to a four-game sweep of Panhandle State this weekend by going 10-for-15 from the plate for an average of .667 while having six extra-base hits with six runs scored. Heron had three games where she had three hits while hitting four doubles, a triple, and a home run. Hreon finished the weekend with a slugging percentage of 1.267 and an on-base percentage of .667.
 
Other Nominees - Leighanne Eaton, Science and Arts, Kylie Barnes, Texas Wesleyan, Meagan Bellar, Oklahoma Panhandle State, Jadyn Fernandez, Wayland Baptist (TX), and Tandy Garrett, Langston.  
 
Williams delivered 9.0 shutout innings and a perfect game at Langston University. The perfect game is the fourth of her career and second of the season. Williams finished the week with 22 strikeouts while scattering only two hits and walking no one. This is the sixth time this season that Williams has garnered the conference weekly pitching award.
