Oklahoma City – Kameron Neal of Panhandle State and Joshua Morris of Texas Wesleyan earned this week’s Sooner Athletic Conference Oklahoma Ford Dealers Men’s Track and Field Athletes of the Week for their efforts during the period ending April 28, 2024, as announced by the conference office Tuesday morning.
Neal won two events at the 2024 SAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships this past weekend. Neal started the meet by winning the 100-meter dash in a time of 10.18 and then grabbed the 200-meter dash title in 20.84. Neal has the best times in the SAC this season in both events. This is the second-longest jump of the year in the SAC.
Other Nominees - Evert Silva, Oklahoma City, Marques Cameron, Langston University, and Tyrece Grant, Texas Wesleyan University.
Morris won the men’s triple jump at the SAC Championships with a mark of 15.21m (49’ 10.75”). The mark was almost 2 feet further than the next closest athlete and is believed to be the new championship meet record if confirmed by meet records data from all previous meets.
