John Brown Set to Host the 2025 SAC Cross Country Championships

Oklahoma City – The 2025 fall championships continue as the Sooner Athletic Conference Men’s and Women’s Cross Country Championship Meet will take place on Saturday, Nov. 8, at Pollard’s Field in Siloam Springs, Ark.
 
The men will run a 8K course starting at 9 a.m., while the women will compete in an 6K race starting at 9:45 a.m. The conference awards ceremony will take place following the conclusion of the men’s race.
 
The Oklahoma City men’s team will look to earn its ninth consecutive title, as the Stars won last year’s championship with 21 points while Wayland Baptist placed second in the meet with 54 points. Joining Oklahoma City and Wayland Baptist in the chase for the team title will be John Brown and College of the Ozarks. The Stars are currently receiving votes in the national coaches’ poll, while Tanner Bailey of College of the Ozarks has run the fastest 8K this fall with a time of 24:15.2 at the Missouri Southern Stampede back on Sept. 20.
 
The Stars women’s team has won nine of the last 10 championships, claiming the crown last year with 26 points. Meanwhile, John Brown secured second place in the meet with 61 points. College of the Ozarks and Panhandle State will be other teams to watch in the team title chase. Oklahoma City is currently ranked 24th in the national poll, as Kenzi Readnour leads the way for the Stars with a conference-best time of 21:54.7 at the Arturo Barrios Invite back on Oct. 17.
