Green and Butler Collect SAC Digital Scoreboards Men's Basketball Player of the Week Honors

Oklahoma City – Trelin Green of Nelson and Jevarrick Butler of Central Christian have earned this week’s Sooner Athletic Conference Digital Scoreboards Men’s Basketball Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week awards for their efforts over the past week, as announced by the conference office Monday morning.
 
Green paced the Lions to a 2-0 conference record last week by averaging 21.5 points per game while shooting 45.5 percent from the field. Green scored a season high 25 points in a win over Southwestern Christian while adding 18 points in a victory over Oklahoma City. Green also added 16 assists and seven steals to his stat line last week.
 
Other Nominees - Morris Williams, Mid-America Christian, Jay Baxter, College of the Ozarks, Marcus Green, Wayland Baptist, Montez Young, Jr., Texas Wesleyan, Antonio Lewis, Langston, Jamouri McCalister, Science and Arts, Trae Oetting, John Brown, Beau Tranter, Oklahoma City, and Chris Whitten, Central Christian.
 
Butler was a key defensive player for the Tigers, grabbing 15 defensive boards and recording seven steals as Central went 1-1 in conference play last week. In a win over Panhandle State, Butler recorded 11 defensive caroms and five steals. In a loss to Wayland Baptist, Butler had four defensive rebounds and a pair of steals, along with a block.
