Sooner Athletic Conference and Tinker Federal Credit Union Announce Partnership

Oklahoma City – The Sooner Athletic Conference is proud to announce that Tinker Federal Credit Union has joined the SAC family as a new sponsor. Their partnership will aid the conference in an upcoming initiative that will help promote and celebrate Women’s Athletics and all of the outstanding females who are currently holding leadership roles at many of our institutions.

“Adding a powerhouse institution like Tinker Federal Credit Union is outstanding for the Sooner and our new program,” stated SAC Assistant Commissioner Jim Powers. “TFCU is already entrenched in collegiate athletics as a partner with many of our schools, and their commitment to excellence and providing financial information and guidance to our student-athletes is second to none.”

Tinker Federal Credit Union (TFCU) is the largest credit union in Oklahoma, with more than 460,000 members and more than $6 billion in assets. For 79 years, TFCU has been helping members achieve their goals and realize their dreams. As a not-for-profit, member-owned financial cooperative, TFCU returns profits to members through financial education, higher dividends on deposits, lower interest rates on loans, and low or no fees on services.

The SAC and TFCU will embark on a new program called “We Belong Here, Celebrating Women in College Athletics.” This program will highlight and promote women's athletics and help raise awareness of them. It will also promote women’s athletic contests within the conference to help attract more fans who will see the incredible talents that our women showcase daily.

“Tinker Federal Credit Union (TFCU) is proud to be the title sponsor of the Sooner Athletic Conference’s initiative to highlight, showcase, and promote women’s sports across the conference,” stated Tinker Federal Credit Union President and CEO Dave Willis. “TFCU exists to help our members achieve their goals and realize their dreams, and we are honored to partner with the conference’s goals of showcasing the hard work and talents of female student-athletes across the conference.”

More information will be available about the new program over the coming weeks.
