Oklahoma City – Christian Campbell of Panhandle State and Rico Yarbrough of Wayland Baptist have earned this week’s Sooner Athletic Conference Digital Scoreboards Men’s Basketball Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week awards for their efforts over the past week, as announced by the conference office on Monday morning.
Campbell had an impressive week for the Aggies as he averaged 30.5 points per game over two contests on 51.3 percent shooting from the field. Campbell scored 28 points in a loss to Wayland Baptist and then added 33 points in a loss to Langston. Campbell added 11 rebounds, two assists, and a pair of steals to his stat line for the week.

Yarbrough paced the defensive efforts in a pair of conference wins as he grabbed 11 defensive rebounds, a pair of steals, and six blocks for the week. In a win over Panhandle State, Yarbrough grabbed four defensive caroms, with two steals, and three blocks. In a win over Central Christian, Yarbrough had seven defensive boards and three more blocks. Yarbrough also averaged 25 points per game over the week.
