Oklahoma City – Tyrece Grant and Hayden Norwich of Texas Wesleyan have been named this week’s Sooner Athletic Conference Digital Scoreboard Men’s Indoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week for their efforts this past week, as announced by the conference office on Tuesday morning.
Grant took part in the JD Martin Invite in Norman, Okla., and took the top spot on the podium in the 60-meter dash. He opened the meet with a time of 6.78 in the prelims, which is an NAIA “B” Standard mark, and then ran a 6.77 in the final to better his national qualifying mark and grab first place in the event.
Other Nominees - Marques Cameron, Langston, Case Drum, Wayland Baptist, Jason Granillo, Panhandle State, and Lucky Maila, Mid-America Christian.
Norwich also competed in the JD Martin Invite and won the Shot Put over 16 other competitors. Norwich had a throw of 16.61m to win the event as he earned an NAIA “B” Standard with the throw.
