Bethany, Okla. - Southwestern Christian University’s legacy of faith-driven leadership will be celebrated on the national stage as Mark Arthur has been named an inductee into the 2026 NCCAA Hall of Fame.
Arthur’s impact on SCU and the NCCAA spans more than three decades. He has served the university in a wide range of leadership roles since 1992 and was instrumental in guiding Southwestern Christian into NCCAA membership in 1993. From the beginning, Arthur has been a strong advocate for the NCCAA’s mission of keeping Christ at the center of intercollegiate athletics.
Throughout his tenure at SCU, Arthur has worn many hats, including Head Men’s Basketball Coach from 1992 to 2011, Head Women’s Basketball Coach from 2015 to 2024, Vice President for Intercollegiate Athletics from 2011 to 2025, and currently Vice President of Fiscal Affairs. In each role, Arthur has emphasized excellence, integrity, and spiritual growth, shaping generations of student-athletes and coaches.
Beyond the SCU campus, Arthur has played a significant role in advancing the NCCAA nationally. He has served as a Regional Coordinator and National Sport Chair, while also holding multiple NCCAA volunteer leadership positions over several decades. His dedication to service has been recognized with the NCCAA Meritorious Service Award twice, in 2017 and again in 2023.
Arthur’s coaching accomplishments are equally impressive. During his career, he led teams to four NCCAA National Championships and earned NCCAA Coach of the Year honors twice—once in men’s basketball and once in women’s basketball—highlighting his ability to lead and succeed across programs.
At the heart of Arthur’s career is a life centered on faith, leadership, and excellence. His influence has extended far beyond wins and championships, seen most clearly in his mentorship of student-athletes and his continued investment in developing young coaches as leaders.
Arthur’s induction into the 2026 NCCAA Hall of Fame stands as a fitting recognition of a lifetime of service, impact, and commitment to Christ-centered athletics.
