Pena and Gray Collect SAC Digital Scoreboards Women's Outdoor Track and Field Athlete of the Week Honors

Oklahoma City – Erika Pena of Oklahoma City and Mia Gray of Wayland Baptist have been named this week’s Sooner Athletic Conference Digital Scoreboards Women’s Outdoor Track Athletes of the Week for their efforts this past week, as announced by the conference office on Tuesday morning.
 
Pena took part in the Butler Grizzly Gold Classic and claimed her second consecutive weekly honor by finishing second in the 1500-meter run. Pena had a time of 4:32.38, which is an NAIA “B” standard mark in the event that featured a loaded field of NCAA and NAIA participants. Her time is also the fastest in the conference this spring.
 
Other Nominees - Inmaculada Delgado, Wayland Baptist, Cora Eyler, Mid-America Christian, Breyanna Kemp, Panhandle State, and Chloe Threatt, Langston.
 
Gray participated in the WT Jo Meaker Classic and placed fifth in the shot put in a field that featured NCAA Division I and II competitors. Gray had a throw of 13.07m to lead all NAIA competitors and is the longest throw in the conference this spring.
