Chan and King Claim SAC Digital Scoreboards Women's Outdoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week Honors

Oklahoma City – Katalina Chan of John Brown and Azsalind King of Langston have been named this week’s Sooner Athletic Conference Digital Scoreboards Women’s Outdoor Track Athletes of the Week for their efforts this past week, as announced by the conference office on Tuesday morning.
 
Chan took part in the Little Rock Invitational and earned her first national qualifying mark of the season. Chan opened the meet with a first-place finish in the 400-meter run with a program record time of 57.08. Chan then placed third in the 400-meter hurdles with an NAIA “B” standard and new program record time of 1:02.11. Chan finished her meet by aiding the Golden Eagle 4x100-meter relay to a fourth-place finish with a time of 50.26.

King participated in the Pitt State Tune Up and took part in the high jump for the Lions. King had a leap of 1.52m to place 12th in the event that featured many NCAA Division II competitors.
