OKLAHOMA CITY – The Sooner Athletic Conference wrapped up the academic all-conference for its spring sports as 163 student-athletes from the league’s baseball, golf and track & field programs received the academic achievement on Thursday.

For the complete 2020-21 academic year, a total of 1,048 student-athletes across the SAC’s 16 NAIA-sponsored sports earned the distinguished award.

Each student-athlete honored achieved excellence both on the field and in the classroom by maintaining at least a 3.25 grade-point average over the last two semesters while also lettering for their team during the season.

Overall, 100 student-athletes from the SAC’s eight baseball teams garnered the academic accolade, led by Oklahoma City with 20 honorees.

In men’s golf, the Stars showed both athletic and academic excellence by not just winning their 24th SAC title, but also boasted the most golfers alongside Wayland Baptist with six apiece. On the whole, 24 golfers earned the academic All-SAC distinction.

The men’s track & field programs amassed 32 honorees as OCU once again led the way with nine student-athletes being named to the esteemed list.
