OKLAHOMA CITY – The Sooner Athletic Conference announced its 2021-22 baseball scholar-athletes, presented by Barnes & Noble College on Thursday as 65 standouts garnered the academic achievement.
To be eligible for SAC scholar-athlete accolades, a student-athlete must be at least a junior in academic standing while maintaining no lower than a 3.5 cumulative grade-point average. Athletes also must have attended the nominating institution for at least two years as a non-transfer or one year as a transfer and be on the program’s NAIA eligibility certificate.
Southwestern Assemblies of God led all programs in the SAC with 13 scholar-athlete recipients while Mid-America Christian and Southwestern Christian also put together a remarkable year in the classroom, boasting 12 honorees apiece.
The 10 student-athletes that maintained a 4.0 cumulative GPA through the end of the year also competed for the Evangels and Eagles baseball programs with MACU placing six on the list while SCU totaled four.
