Oklahoma City – Emersen Heron of Oklahoma City and Sophie Williams of Science & Arts earned this week’s Sooner Athletic Conference Oklahoma Ford Dealers Softball Players of the Week honors for the second consecutive week following their efforts during the period that ended on March 10, 2024, as announced by the conference office Monday Morning.
Heron had an impressive weekend in a pair of wins over Mid-America Christian as she was 5-for-7 from the plate for an average of .714 with three home runs and four runs scored. Heron had a slugging percentage of 2.143 with an on-base percentage of .714. Heron hit all three of her round-trippers in a 3-0 win over the Evangels while tossing a four-hit shutout in the victory.

Williams improved her record to 10-1 with a pair of wins, including an 18-strikeout no-hitter against Peru State College. In total, Williams pitched 9.0 scoreless and hitless innings this week, along with 23 strikeouts. Williams' 18 strikeouts against PSC is the second most in a game in program history, and the no-hitter is the third of her career. She delivered a 13-strikeout perfect game against Wayland Baptist earlier this season, which was the third of her career. Through 54.0 innings of work this season, she has produced a 0.65 earned run average and has struck out 87 batters. This is the third consecutive week that Williams has earned the conference Pitcher of the Week award.
