Oklahoma City – Gabriel Cabrera of John Brown and Lucas Catosso of Mid-America Christian have been named this week’s Sooner Athletic Conference Men’s Soccer Players of the Week, as announced by the conference office on Monday morning.
 
Cabrera paced the Golden Eagles to a 2-0 conference record last week as he scored a pair of goals and added an assist in the two wins. His brace led the way for John Brown in a 2-1 victory over Wayland Baptist as he scored the game-winner on a penalty kick. Cabrera also added an assist in a 6-2 win over Central Christian. Cabrera had three total shots on the week with two of those being on frame.
 
Other Nominees - Genis Alcaide, Central Christian, Thomas Brulay, Oklahoma City, Ryan Jeanfreau, Mid-America Christian, Francis Motsi, Wayland Baptist, and Teddy Nkamanyi, Nelson. 
 
Catosso was an anchor for the Evangels backline in a 1-0-1 week as Mid-America Christian held two of the conference’s top scoring teams to only two goals with the only goal that Science & Arts scored in a 5-1 MACU victory coming off a penalty kick. Catosso also scored a goal in the win over the Drovers.
