Lambert and Gudmundsdottir Share SAC Women's Soccer Player of the Year Honors

Paulsen and Crick Named Conference Coaches of the Year

Oklahoma City – Julia Lambert of John Brown and Dagbjort Gudmundsdottir of Science & Arts have been named the 2025 Sooner Athletic Conference Co-Players of the Year as voted on by the league’s coaches. Dr. Kathleen Paulsen of John Brown and Niall Crick of Science & Arts earned the Co-Coach of the Year award to headline the league’s postseason honors.
 
Gudmundsdottir was also named the Offensive Player of the Year, while Cammy Hargrove of Mid-America Christian earned the Defensive Player of the Year award. Kayleigh Haygood of Oklahoma City was named the Newcomer of the Year, while Agnes Aas of Science & Arts earned the Freshman of the Year honor, with Marely Fonseca of John Brown collecting the league’s Goalkeeper of the Year award.
 
Paulsen led the Golden Eagles to their third consecutive regular-season title with an overall record of 12-2-4 and a league mark of 7-0-2, while Crick guided the Drovers to a second-place finish in the regular season with an overall record of 13-2-5 and a conference mark of 6-0-3.
 
Lambert was tied for second in the conference in goals scored with 12, while also tying for second in assists with eight, as she also was second in the league with 1.78 points per match. Lambert also had three game-winning goals to her credit this season. 
 
Gudmundsdottir paced the Drovers’ attack as she was tied for second in the league with 12 goals, being third in shots with an average of 3.70 shots per game. Gudmundsdottir was also second in the conference with 1.95 shots on goal.
 
Hargrove was a key to the Evangels’ defense as they allowed only 1.37 goals per game this season. Hargrove also added a pair of assists and five shots to her stat line this year.
 
Haygood made an impact for the Stars this season as she was in a tie for second in the league with 12 goals while finishing third in points with an average of 1.74 points per game. 
 
Aas has a part of the Drovers’ backline that allowed just 12 goals this season for an average of .60 goals per match. Aas also had three assists while having five shots to her credit.
 
Fonseca anchored the Golden Eagles’ backline by having a conference-best .499 goals against average as she allowed eight goals this season while having a save percentage of .833, which was third in the conference. Fonseca also had nine clean sheets during the season.
