Oklahoma City Earns the 2025 SAC Women's Wrestling Qualifying Tournament Crown

The Stars Claim the Title for the First Time in Program History

Fort Worth, Texas – By the slimmest of margins, Oklahoma City claimed the 2025 SAC Women’s Wrestling Qualifying Tournament title for the first time in program history Saturday at the Sid Richardson Center in Fort Worth, Texas.
 
The Stars earned the team title with 156.5 points after winning the first two weight classes of the day. Wayland Baptist earned the runner-up slot just a point and a half behind Oklahoma City with 155 points, while Texas Wesleyan finished third with 131 points.
 
Camille Fournier of Texas Wesleyan was named the Conference Wrestler of the Year. She finished the campaign with a record of 23-3 and won the 117lb. weight class.
 
Samantha Barragan claimed the conference’s Newcomer of the Year award following a runner-up performance in the 138 lb. weight class. Mercy Adekuoroye of Wayland Baptist garnered the league’s Freshman of the Year honor as she won the 131 lb. class.
 
Taydem Khamjoi had the most pinfalls in the tournament, with two pins in 3:04, the least amount of time for two pins in the meet.
 
Josette Partney of Missouri Baptist was named the Most Outstanding Wrestler of the Meet after winning the 160 lb. weight class with two pinfalls on the day.
 
Will McKinney Oklahoma City University was named the league’s Coach of the Year after leading the Stars to the tournament championship.
 
The SAC will have 20 allocations to the 2025 NAIA National Championships at the Park City Arena in Wichita, Kan., as each conference will have at least one wrestler advance to the championships. The SAC will have four wrestlers in the 160-lb. weight class, while three will advance in the 103-lb. class. Two wrestlers will advance in the 131-lb., 138-lb., 145-lb., 180-lb., and 107-lb. weight classes, with one wrestler advancing in the remaining divisions.
