Oklahoma City – Evert Silva of Oklahoma City and Bryson McRae of UNT-Dallas have been named this week’s Sooner Athletic Conference Men’s Outdoor Track Athletes of the Week for their efforts this past week, as announced by the conference office Tuesday morning.
Silva claimed the title in the 5,000m run at the Bryan Clay Invitational with a new meet record time of 13:27.76 this past weekend. The mark is both a NAIA “A” and “B” Standard time and is now the fastest time in the event in the country this spring.
Other Nominees - Tajean Houston, Texas Wesleyan, Devin Page, UNT Dallas, Mitchell Williams, Langston, and Mohamed Zairi, Mid-America Christian.
McRae took part in the Jim Mize Invitational and placed ninth in the Long Jump with a mark of 6.90m. McRae also aided the Trailblazers’ 4x100-meter relay to a fourth-place finish with a time of 43.01.
