Wayland Baptist Holds 36 Hole Lead at the 2025 SAC Men's Golf Championship

Oklahoma City – Wayland Baptist put three of their players in the top five as the Pioneers finished in the top spot after 36 holes of the 2025 Sooner Athletic Conference Men’s Golf Championship held at Twin Hills Golf Club in Oklahoma City Monday afternoon.
 
The Pioneers are the only team to shoot under par as a team for the day, as they are currently seven under par after the first 36 holes. They hold a nine-stroke advantage over Texas Wesleyan, which is in second at two-over-par for the day. Oklahoma City trails the Rams by seven strokes to fill the third position at nine-over-par.
 
Sacha Brendle of Wayland Baptist holds the top slot in the individual chase by shooting rounds of 67-71 for a score of six-under-par 138, while Jose Manuel Sanchez of Texas Wesleyan is three strokes behind the leader with a three-under-par score of 141. Benjamin Lubker and Nino Mahy of Wayland Baptist are tied for third at two-under-par, with Tres Hill of Oklahoma City is currently in fifth place at one-under-par.
 
The tournament is set to conclude on Tuesday, April 29, with a shotgun start set for 8:30 a.m.
