Oklahoma City – Following an outstanding season and a share of fifth place in the recent Sooner Athletic Conference Men’s Golf Championship, Tres Hill of Oklahoma City has been named the Conference Player of the Year as voted on by the league’s head coaches.
Brady Meek of Texas Wesleyan earned this year’s conference Freshman of the Year award, while Wayland Baptist Head Coach Tom Harp garnered the league’s Coach of the Year honor.
Hill finished the season by tying for fifth at the conference tournament and has been one of the nation’s top golfers, as he was scoring an average of 69 per 18 holes this year. Hill also won three tournaments this season.
Meek wrapped up his season with a ninth-place finish at the conference tournament as he was one of the key players for the Pioneers. Meek had a scoring average of 71 this year as the freshman claimed two tournament titles.
Harp led the Pioneers to their second SAC title in the past three years as Wayland Baptist led the event from wire to wire.
