Lee Named NAIA National Women's Basketball Defensive Player of the Week

Oklahoma City – Taliah Lee of Mid-America Christian has been named the NAIA National Women’s Basketball Defensive Player of the Week for her efforts during action last week. A national panel of institutional and conference sports information directors votes on this award.

Lee claimed her second Sooner Athletic Conference defensive weekly honor this season, leading the Evangels to a pair of league wins last week by grabbing 16 defensive rebounds and recording nine steals, along with eight blocked shots. In a 77-65 win over Wayland Baptist, Lee had 11 defensive rebounds with five blocks, while in a victory over Panhandle State, Lee added five defensive boards and seven steals. Lee also finished the week by averaging 12 points per game.

Lee is the second SAC player to earn the national defensive weekly award since it began last season, as she joins Jerney Bennett from Oklahoma City, who earned the award on December 3, 2024.
