Oklahoma City – Cania Mitchell of Wayland Baptist and Sarah Snodgrass of John Brown have earned this week’s Digital Scoreboard Sooner Athletic Conference Women’s Basketball Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week awards for their efforts over the past week, as announced by the conference office on Monday morning.
 
Mitchell aided the Flying Queens to a pair of conference wins last week by averaging 28 points per game on 66.7 percent shooting from the field. Mitchell also added 13 rebounds, 15 assists, and six steals in the victories. In a win over Panhandle State, Mitchell scored 32 points with six caroms and seven helpers. She then followed that by scoring 24 points in a victory over Central Christian with seven rebounds and eight assists.

Snodgrass collected her fourth defensive weekly award with 27 defensive rebounds, a steal, and a block to help the Golden Eagles to a 1-1 record. In a loss to College of the Ozarks, Snodgrass grabbed 14 defensive caroms with a block, while in a win over Texas Wesleyan, she added 13 more defensive rebounds and a steal. Snodgrass also added her 12^thand 13^th double-doubles for the year as she averaged 23.5 points per game.
