Oklahoma City – Cania Mitchell of Wayland Baptist and Paris Miller of Nelson have earned this week’s Digital Scoreboard Sooner Athletic Conference Women’s Basketball Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week awards for their efforts over the past week, as announced by the conference office on Monday morning.
 
Mitchell helped the Flying Queens to a 1-1 record last week by averaging 23.5 points per game on 58.6 percent shooting from the field. Mitchel scored 18 points and had 10 assists in a loss to College of the Ozarks while scoring 29 points and handing out nine helpers in a win over John Brown. Mitchell had 16 total rebounds during the week and added seven steals for the two contests.

Miller paced the Lions to a 3-0 conference mark last week by averaging 7.3 defensive rebounds per game while having eight steals and three blocks. In a win over Oklahoma City, Miller grabbed 10 defensive caroms and added three steals with a pair of blocks to highlight her week. Miller also scored 15.7 points a game over the span.
