Oklahoma City – Genesis Nunez of Panhandle State and Bauer Brittain of Oklahoma City have been named this week’s Sooner Athletic Conference Netting Pros Baseball Player of the Week awards for their efforts over the past week, as announced by the conference office Monday morning.
Nunez was a key performer for the Aggies as he notched four multi-hit games for 11 total hits, which included three doubles, a pair of triples, and two home runs. Nunez drove in 12 runs during the week while scoring nine times himself. Nunez finished the week with a .579 batting average, a 1.263 slugging percentage, and a .652 on-base percentage. Nunez also added 11 assists and 10 putouts during the five-game span.
Other Nominees - Jalen King, Mid-America Christian, Hunter Lewis, College of the Ozarks, Arcadio Martinez, Wayland Baptist, Aiden O'Malley, Southwestern Christian, Joshua Pinter, Nelson, Aiden Van Rensum, Oklahoma City, and Brendon Vela, Texas Wesleyan.
Brittain had a pair of appearances last week for the Stars, including a complete game four-hitter in a win over No. 21 Bellevue. Brittain had nine total strikeouts over eight innings pitched and surrendered three earned runs over the two outings. Brittian finished the week with a 1.38 WHIP.
