Oklahoma City – Brendon Vela of Texas Wesleyan and George Reynolds of College of the Ozarks have been named this week’s Sooner Athletic Conference Netting Pros/STADIONIC Baseball Player of the Week awards for their efforts over the past week, as announced by the conference office Monday morning.
Vela helped the Rams to a 4-0 record last week by going 11-of-17 at the plate for a batting average of .647. Vela had three extra-base hits, including a triple and a home run, en route to driving in four runs and scoring five himself. Vela finished the week with a 1.000 slugging percentage and a .647 on-base percentage.

Reynolds tossed a complete game to aid the Bobcats to a win over Panhandle State by having five strikeouts and two walks in the outing. Reynolds surrendered six hits and allowed only one earned run over the nine innings worked and finished with a .89 WHIP.
