Oklahoma City – Sacha Brendle of Wayland Baptist and Makena Junkin of Texas Wesleyan have been named this week’s Sooner Athletic Conference Digital Scoreboards Men’s and Women’s Golfer of the Week, as announced by the conference office on Tuesday morning.  
 
Brendle led the Pioneers to the top spot in the Top of Texas Invitational held at Tascosa Golf Club in Amarillo, Texas. Brendle won the individual portion of the tournament by firing rounds of 71-72-67 for a three-under-par score of 210 to outpace the runner-up by a stroke. Brendle’s final day score was the best round of the tournament as he helped Wayland Baptist to the team title by eight strokes.

Junkin took part in the Kona Ice Keiser Cup held at the Okeeheelee Golf Club in West Palm Beach, Fla., and claimed her third title of the season by shooting rounds of 77-74-71 for a six-over-par score of 222. Junkin aided the Rams to the second spot in the team chase as they were behind the eventual team winners, Keiser. The victory was also Junkin’s eighth in her career at Texas Wesleyan, which ties her for first place in program history.
