Oklahoma City – Brady Meek and Makena Junkin of Texas Wesleyan have been named this week’s Sooner Athletic Conference Men’s and Women’s Golfers of the Week, as announced by the conference office on Tuesday morning.  This is the last weekly Golf award until the spring season begins.
 
Meek took part in the Battle at Winter Creek at Winter Creek Golf and Country Club in Blanchard, Okla., and won his third event of the fall season by shooting rounds of 69-70-69 for an eight-under-par score of 208. Meek had 12 birdies, four bogies, and double bogie, and an eagle over the 54-hole event while aiding the Rams to a third-place finish in the team event that saw four other SAC teams participate in.
 
Other Nominees - Sacha Brendle, Wayland Baptist, Conner Cryer, Science & Arts, and Lorenzo Santinelli, Oklahoma City.
 
Junkin claimed her second tournament victory of the fall at the Battle of Winter Creek by firing rounds of 70-72-75 for a five-over-par score of 215 to outdistance second place by two strokes. Junkin had seven birdies in the 54-hole event with eight bogies to help the Rams to a second-place finish in the team event.
