Texas Wesleyan Claims the Top Seed in the 2026 SAC Baseball Tournament Presented by Netting Pros/STADIONIC

Oklahoma City – After setting a new program record for conference wins in a season, Texas Wesleyan has earned the top seed in the upcoming 2026 Sooner Athletic Conference Baseball Tournament, presented by Netting Pros/STADIONIC. The tournament is slated to begin on Friday, April 24.
 
The format for the tournament this year is that the top four seeded teams will host a best-of-three series starting on Friday, April 24. The four teams that win their opening round series will advance to play in a double-elimination tournament at Joe Becker Ballpark in Joplin, Mo., beginning on Friday, May 1. The times for the first-round games will be announced on Monday afternoon.
 
The Rams are currently on an eight-game winning streak and have swept the past two series in claiming the top seed. Mid-America Christian will enter the tournament as the No. 2 seed, with Oklahoma City joining the postseason as the No. 3 seed. Central Christian will enter tournament play as the No. 4 seed.
 
The Rams are currently ranked 17th in the latest NAIA Coaches Top 25 poll, as they have set a new record for conference wins by going 22-5 during league play and are 37-7 overall. They will take on No. 8 seed College of the Ozarks, which currently has an overall record of 24-24 and an 11-16 mark in conference action. Texas Wesleyan won the season series 2-1 back at the beginning of April.
 
The Evangels will play host to No. 7 Science & Arts in a first round match up. Mid-America Christian is currently ranked 19th in the NAIA Coaches’ Top 25 with an overall record of 33-11 and a conference mark of 20-7. The Drovers are currently 19-22 overall this season as they finished league play with a record of 13-14. The Evangels won the season series 2-1 this past weekend in Oklahoma City.
 
The Stars, who won a tiebreaker over Central Christian, will welcome No. 6 seed Wayland Baptist for a first-round series. Oklahoma City is currently 20-24 in the regular season and completed conference action with a mark of 15-12. The Pioneers are currently 29-19 in the regular season as they completed conference play with a record of 13-15. The Stars won the regular season series over Wayland Baptist 2-1 back in late February.

The Tigers will take on No. 5 seed Nelson in the final first-round series in McPherson, Kan. Central Christian is currently 21-22 on the regular season as they wrapped up conference play with a mark of 15-12. The Lions, who received votes in the latest NAIA Coaches Poll, are currently 33-16 in the regular season and finished league play with a mark of 14-13. The Tigers won the regular season series 2-1 this past weekend in Waxahachie, Texas.
