Oklahoma City – Frankie Giacalone of Mid-America Christian and Justin Evasovic of Central Christian have been named this week’s Sooner Athletic Conference Netting Pros/STADIONIC Baseball Player of the Week awards for their efforts over the past week, as announced by the conference office Monday morning.
Giacalone helped the Evangels to a 2-1 series win over Science & Arts by going 5-of-8 at the plate for a .625 batting average. Giacalone ripped a pair of home runs, driving in four runs, and scored three runs himself during the week. Giacalone also earned three walks and stole a base over the three games, finishing with a .727 on-base percentage. Giacalone also had a 1.375 slugging percentage during the span.

Evasovic led the Tigers to a 6-0 victory over Nelson by throwing a complete game one-hitter with six strikeouts in the outing. Evasovic allowed only one walk in the contest, with the Lions’ only hit coming in the bottom of the seventh inning. Evasovic ended his day with a .29 WHIP.
