Three SAC Baseball Teams Start Play in the NAIA National Tournament

Oklahoma City – Three Sooner Athletic Conference baseball teams have advanced to the 69th Annual NAIA Baseball National Championship tournament that will begin on Monday, May 11. Regular season champion Texas Wesleyan, tournament champion Mid-America Christian, and Nelson, who claimed an at-large berth, will look to advance to Lewiston, Idaho, and the final site.
 
Nelson will open play in Bellevue, Neb., on Monday, May 11, as the No. 4 seed and will take on No. 5 St. Ambrose starting at 11 a.m. The winner of the contest will meet No. 1 seed Bellevue at 6 p.m. on Monday. No. 2 seed IU Southeast and No. 3 Huntington are the other two schools playing in Bellevue.
 
Texas Wesleyan will head to Lincoln, Neb., as the No. 2 seed and will start tournament action on Monday against No. 3 Madonna, starting at noon. No. 1 Doane and No. 4 Oakland City are the two other schools playing in Lincoln.
 
Mid-America Christian heads to Shreveport, La., as the No. 2 seed and will face No. 3 Loyola on Monday, starting at 2:30 p.m. The No. 1 seed in the bracket will be LSU Shreveport, with Oklahoma Wesleyan joining the bracket as the No. 4 seed and Huston-Tillotson entering as the No. 5 seed.
