OKLAHOMA CITY – The Sooner Athletic Conference revealed its 2021-22 softball scholar-athletes, presented by Barnes & Noble College as 60 student-athletes earned the honor on Friday.
To be eligible for SAC scholar-athlete accolades, a student-athlete must be at least a junior in academic standing while maintaining no lower than a 3.5 cumulative grade-point average. Athletes also must have attended the nominating institution for at least two years as a non-transfer or one year as a transfer and be on the program’s NAIA eligibility certificate.
Overall, it was Mid-America Christian that led the league with 14 receiving the esteemed accolade while Southwestern Christian received eight scholar-athlete honors and Langston placed eight on the list.
Of the 10 student-athletes that wrapped up the year with a 4.0 GPA, the Evangels also paced the league with four on the list while both the Eagles and Lions each placed three.
