Oklahoma City – Elena Kagiali and Taylore Alsaid of Panhandle State, and Taylor Cavazos of Nelson have earned Sooner Athletic Conference Volleyball Players of the Week honors as released by the conference office Monday morning.
Kagiali was named the league’s Attacker of the Week, with Alsaid earning Defender of the Week honors while Cavazos garnered the Setter of the Week Award.
Kagiali claimed her third consecutive weekly award in leading the Aggies to a pair of conference victories with 30 kills for an average of 5.00 kills per set. She had a .364 hitting percentage on 66 total attacks while adding 19 digs and a block in the two wins. The highlight of the week for Kagiali was a double-double in a 3-0 win over Langston as she had 16 kills and 16 digs.

Alsaid aided the Aggies to a pair of victories last week by having 36 digs for an average of 6.00 digs per set while adding 33 receptions for a .939 receptions percentage. Alsaid also added six kills and had five service aces in 23 service attempts.

Cavazos helped Nelson to a 2-0 record last week with a pair of double-doubles over the weekend. Cavazos had 41 assists for an average of 6.83 assists per set while adding 20 digs over the two-match span. In a 3-0 Southwestern Christian, Cavazos had 26 assists and 10 digs while in a 3-0 sweep of Oklahoma City, Cavazos finished with 15 helpers and 10 digs.
