Oklahoma City – For the second consecutive week, Kylon Polk of Louisiana Christian has been named the NAIA National Football Defensive Player of the Week, as announced by the national office Monday evening. The award is voted on by institutional and conference sports information directors from around the country.
Polk collected his second consecutive weekly award by pacing the Wildcats to a 48-13 upset win over No. 11 OUAZ over the weekend. For the second straight week, Polk had four interceptions, with one of those returned 58 yards for a touchdown. Polk also had nine total tackles, with seven of those being solo stops in the win.
Polk now has 11 interceptions on the season, which is currently more than any player in the NAIA or in any of the four divisions of the NCAA.
