Oklahoma City – After an exciting end to the regular season, Texas Wesleyan claimed the Sooner Athletic Conference automatic berth into the 2025 NAIA Football Championship Series after claiming a part of the SAC regular season title. The Rams joined OUAZ and Louisiana Christian in a three-way tie for the title, but claimed the berth into the postseason via point differential between the three teams.
The Rams finished the season with an overall record of 7-4 and a league mark of 7-1 as they will travel to Oskaloosa, Iowa, to take on William Penn on Saturday, November 22, in a noon start at Statesmen Community Stadium.
The Statesmen enter the field with an overall record of 10-1 out of the Heart of America and will host their first-ever playoff contest as they join the field for the first time in 13 years.
This will be the second straight year that Texas Wesleyan will join the FCS Tournament, as the Rams are led by quarterback Cole Francis, who has thrown for 2,425 yards this season with 14 touchdowns. Sir Hill paces the Texas Wesleyan defense with 70 tackles on the year.
